First Aid for Parents and Child Carers

A short accredited course aimed at parents/child carers to build confidence, knowledge and skills in first aid.

Description

Course Outcomes:

1. Be able to manage an Infant or Child who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally.

2. Be able to manage an Infant or Child who is having a seizure.

3. Be able to recognise and assist an Infant or Child who is choking.

4. Manage an Infant or Child with external bleeding.

5. Know how to provide first aid to an Infant or Child with burns or scalds.

6. Be able to provide first aid to an Infant or Child with a suspected fracture or dislocation.

7. Know how to provide first aid to an Infant or Child with a chronic medical condition.
